Mount Zion Baptist Church Holiday Resources

- Christmas Day of Caring – A holiday celebration which includes lunch, and a free Christmas toy giveaway for children 12 years and younger in King County.
Catholic Community Services – Annual Holiday Gift Shop
- Located at 4250 S. Mead St., St. Edwards Parish, Seattle, WA 98118
- This program is for low-income working families. The gift shop is for pregnant women, including single moms. Children must be 12 years old or younger (including newborns) to receive toys as well as free Christmas gifts. For more information call 206-445-5669
- Toys for Tots collects and gives out toys, books, and stocking stuffers to children in need in King County.
- This year, toys will be distributed only to non-profit organizations and individuals will need to reach out to approved organizations to request a toy. The approved organizations can be found by clicking on the link above.
Society of Saint Vincent de Paul
- Contact the Council of Seattle Area and Local Churches by calling 206-767-6449.
- This charity and its affiliated churches, administer the Christmas Family Assistance program for King County residents. They offer free food, toys, hot meals, gifts and clothing.
- Provides a number of services including Christmas assistance. Apply for assistance online or contact a local Salvation Army Corp
- Angel Tree is a Christmas gift service which often operates through the Salvation Army. Click the link to apply online or find an Angel Tree program near you.
- A “Friends of Youth” program that assists with holiday gifts.

Lifelong-Chicken Soup Brigade
Lifelong-Chicken Soup Brigade Food Distribution Center
Provides medically tailored nutritious groceries delivered right to your door to help manage chronic health conditions. Proof of income is requested but not required in order to receive services.
- Food and nutrition services to improve the health of individuals living with serious illnesses such as cancer, kidney disease, HIV, and other diet-related chronic health conditions.

HopeLink – Food Program
Hopelink’s Food Program includes five food markets. They have locations in Bellevue, Redmond, Shoreline, Kirkland, and Carnation. Clients can shop at the market as they would in a typical grocery store.
- All shoppers must be enrolled in the Food Assistance Program
- Hopelink Mobile Market distributes food in various locations across east King County. Please check the Mobile calendars (Tmobile Calendars April 2024) (TMobile Calendars May 2024) for dates and times.
University District Food Bank
The U-District Pantry is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please go to their website for information on hours of distribution.

West Seattle Food Bank
The West Seattle Food Bank distributes food, pet food, and other items to community members in need. For locations and hours visit.

Rental Assistance Programs
Legal Assistance for families facing eviction in Washington State
This organization has “Coordinated Entry” sites and connects King County residents to emergency assistance. Call 360-373-0638 for intake and rental assistance program enrollment. Drop-in clients often cannot be accommodated.

- Emergency Assistance Program through CCS – 253-850-2523 – Call First and Third Thursdays of each month from 2 – 3 p.m. (Must have child under 18 residing in household, if you do not funding will not be provided) – once per year rental assistance
Downtown Emergency Service Center
DESC serves people facing eviction through rental and legal fee assistance.

- Flexible funds help survivors keep or find housing by stopping evictions
- Services may include paying for move-in costs, utilities, emergency hotel stays, or other expenses.

Saint Vincent de Paul Financial Assistance
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul parish is a non-profit that offers people of all backgrounds and religions
- Personal assistance with food, clothing, gasoline, medicine, rent, utilities, and transportation to people facing economic or emotional crises.
- Located at 5950 4th Ave S, Seattle.
- Request assistance by calling their Helpline: 206-767-6449. Or complete an online request form. The request form includes rental and utility assistance questions.
Provides rental assistance as well as housing needs, with a focus on preventing homelessness in the King County area.
- Services can include eviction prevention, move-in and security deposit assistance, limited rent help, and utility bill assistance.

University Churches Emergency Fund
- 206-524-7885 – Families can call this number, leave a voicemail and a representative will call back to do a short interview to get emergency financial assistance.
- Up to $250 of rental or move-in costs assistance for people living in zip codes of 98103, 98105, 98115, and 98125 (Income limitations are in place).
- Limited hours: Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays 10:30-12:15 p.m. Can offer emergency assistance up to once per year.

Provides limited emergency rent assistance to prevent eviction from homes and apartments.
- Rental/utility assistance for residents in the following zip codes: 98106, 98116, 98126, 98136, 98146.

Provides assistance for refugees and immigrants new to the USA.
- Call 253-277-1121 and leave a voicemail to schedule an appointment. World relief checks messages on daily basis and will call back for initial enrollment.
This service is for families or individuals who are facing a serious and immediate housing crisis.

Child Care Aware of Washington
Child Care Aware of Washington helps connects families to Childcare. Search child care options
Child Care Aware can also help:
- Find out if you qualify for financial assistance
- Navigate the state subsidy system and complete your application for Working Connections Child Care
- Get a list of referrals for child care providers that fit the needs of your child and your family
- Help families who are experiencing homelessness to find child care at no cost to them. (Child Protective Services (CPS) will not remove children because they are experiencing homelessness.)

Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)
The Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) helps families living within Seattle city limits pay for the cost of child care for children 1 month to 12 years of age.
Eligibility:
- Lives within Seattle boundaries
- Has a household and family size that places you below 94% of the State Median Income and has eligible activities.

Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)
SFSP 2024 sites will operate approximately July 1 through August 23, 2024. Children and teens aged 18 and younger receive free, healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks. Each youth can receive up to two meals or one meal and one snack per day to be eaten onsite. Sign-up is not required.
